Introduction to Data Recovery

Welcome to my first post on data recovery. Often we hear complaints on computer systems crash or loss of files caused by viruses, accidentally deleted or overwritten or formatted. Some unhappy employees may try to destroy company's files. Some of these files are very costly as they have been built up since day one and could contain sensitive and critical information for the organizations.

For those who are ignorant, they may think it is lost forever. However, there is some chances of recover the data using certain techniques or tools and we should try to do so as we may take longer time to rebuild the files.

The definition of data recovery is retrieving lost, deleted, unusable or inaccessible data that lost for various reasons. It is also recovers corrupted data. There are software and hardware reasons that cause data loss, while we can recover data by software and hardware ways.

However, data recovery is just the remedial measure. The best way in handling data files is prevention and backup regularly. This way we can reduce the danger of data loss to the lowest.

I will discuss more on the techniques available in my next post.
